The story here isn't that Cole Aldrich sucks at dancing. Of course Cole Aldrich sucks at dancing. He is a 6'11, 245 pound, athletically limited white dude that grew up in Minnesota and went to the University of Kansas. If Cole Aldrich didn't suck at dancing then not only would I have to start questioning everything I have ever known, but I would have to get dance lessons, because you can't let Cole Aldrich have more rhythm than you. Luckily none of us have to worry about that.
The real story here is the guy that took this video. The coach's son. Probably the most widely scrutinized player on the Clippers. The one. The only. Austin Rivers. You know when Billy Madison goes back to high school and the kids at the loser table are trying to explain to him that he is the new biggest loser. That's what Austin Rivers was trying to do to Cole Aldrich. Despite stepping his game up drastically, Austin Rivers is still the guy on the roster that you don't expect to contribute significantly. He's still the guy that makes you hold your breathe when he gets the ball in his hands. Well, what better way to try to shed that perception than by trying to pawn it off on the awkward white dude that just started getting meaningful minutes? Why else would you take a video of the guy that is clearly self conscious about his dancing after the best game he's played all season? I'm not saying Austin Rivers is a Cole Aldrich hater by any stretch of the imagination, but I do think he's threatened by his recent success, because if Cole Aldrich isn't the outcast in the Clippers locker room, then I'll give you one guess who is...
Luckily Cole is a pro's pro...
