Coming As A Surprise To No One, Eddie Lacy Doesn't Do Scales

TMZ-  He's definitely slimmed up ... but Eddie Lacy says he refuses to put an exact number on his weight loss because "I don't do scales."

The Green Bay Packers RB touched down at LAX this weekend -- so, we had to ask about his off-season workout regimen with P90X creator Tony Horton.

Lacy says he's feels great ... and he doesn't need a stupid scale to prove it.

I am not going to lie to you. I was extremely disappointed when this forced, awkward interview ended. I was praying that Eddie Lacy would follow up "I don't do scales" with "muscle weighs more than fat", because you just know that's always been his justification for keeping all forms of measurement as far away from him as possible. Not a bad strategy in my opinion. Can't technically be overweight if you never overweighed. Until the Green Bay Packers make him step on that scale at the start of training camp Eddie Lacy is as healthy as his own mind allows him to think he is. What you don't know may inevitably cost you your career, but it won't kill you. I know this because - in case you weren't listening - Eddie Lacy just reaffirmed that he is indeed still alive.

Plus, it's not about your weight anyway. It's about your percentage of body fat and everyone knows those scales are NEVER accurate. Assigning a completely arbitrary number to your level of fitness is the fastest way to find yourself discouraged. Eddie Lacy just needs to stay diligent wit his P90X training and only sneak in his late night Mr. Wong's when he's unsupervised. It's not about the number of pounds you lose, it's about how good you feel when you do it. As long as you continue to work out, stay actively absent minded about what you put in your body, and never step in the same room as a scale then you can be as light footed as you want to be. Eddie Lacy doesn't do scales, Donatella Versace doesn't do mirrors, and Gilbert Gottfried doesn't do listening sessions. Not because self evaluation isn't important, but because it's not as important as self esteem.

P.S. I love how we are so quick to praise Eddie Lacy for his weight loss in this picture...

...and so quick to ignore that his belly sticks out further than his breasts in this one...
