DeAngelo Williams Drastically Undertipped Due To Bad Service, But Who Really Cares Anyway?9/12/2016
TMZ- Pittsburgh Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams is blasting restaurant workers who called him out on social media for not tipping ... saying point-blank -- THEY SUCKED AT THEIR JOBS.
It all started when the bartender at the restaurant went to Facebook and wrote: "Just now at work I had Deangelo Williams come in and I waited on while tending bar. His check was $128.25. He left me $129 with no tip but .75 cents. So there you go Stealers fans, your running back is cheap as s**t!!! Smh." Williams found out about the social media shaming and lashed back -- claiming the service was so terrible, a 75 cent tip was TOO GENEROUS.
I'll never understand why random servers publicly putting athletes on blast for undertipping is still a thing. Obviously giving professional football players the benefit of the doubt when it comes to calculating the proper gratuity is a dangerous game, but can we agree that when one leaves far less than a 1% tip he does so knowing it might get posted on social media? I mean, this same thing has happened so many damn times that DeAngelo Williams would be a goddamn fool not to expect his notifications to start blowing up shortly after leaving lunch. Unfortunately for this bartender, I don't think DeAngelo Williams is all that dumb. That's why I have no choice but to believe he found the service sooooo incredibly porous that it was worth the risk of getting chirped at on the internet. Congrats random bartender, that professional running back that you declared "cheap as shit" was so offended by your inability to do YOUR job that he valued letting you know how badly you performed over his online peace and quiet. If you ask me, that says ALL you need to know about how much this broad sucks at bringing the right food and drinks to the right table in a timely manner. If we being honest we probably should have known she was nothing more than a contemptuous, off-putting waitress when she took to FaceBook the second she didn't get the money she felt entitled to. Not only because it's widely known by now that doing so has no real negative impact on the person you're trying to disparage, but because multiple people that have done so before have been immediately fired. Welcome to the club babe... TMZ Sports spoke with Jimmy Marcos -- co-owner of Ledo Restaurant in Maryland -- who tells us DeAngelo's server will be TERMINATED over her handling of the tip situation. P.S. I'll tell you right now, I have stiffed a god awful waitress before and if you happen to get "blessed" with such an unfortunate dining experience then you should too, because it's an absolute rush.
