I'm no hypocrite, so I'm not going to act like I have never been guilty of the following. However, doesn't listening to Drew Brees call what was probably the live-action description of Madden's "HB Dive" make you feel stupid for ever acting like a wide receiver that ran a wrong route is a brainless twit that no longer deserves the privilege to put on a pair of cleats? Now, I'm sure there is a science to understanding a playbook that reads like a random word generator, and each position almost certainly has a specific noun or number they have to pay attention to. So yeah, it's still relatively inexcusable for a professional athlete not to put in the work necessary to know exactly where he's supposed to go at any given time, no matter how intricate the verbal cue. That said, it's not nearly as inexcusable as drunkenly declaring that an NFL player is a mindless jackass while cursing his entire existence through a television screen for potentially failing to memorize 'gun flex stack ring 394 dragon smoke kill turbo sucker right' and each and every one of it's corresponding prompts. If not being able to recall hundreds of double-digit word, letter, and number combinations is all it takes to deem someone a dunce then you might as well pass me (and everyone else that's ever found themselves dumbfounded while staring at their locker) the cap right now.
