James Harden Not Understanding Why He Didn't Make An All-NBA Team Is The Most James Harden Thing Ever
“There’s no answer for me. I don’t know,” Harden said. “That’s something that I’ve been thinking about. …Even with all the things that happened this year, even with all the negativity, we still had an opportunity to make the playoffs and, you know, had to finish off a good season.”
I am starting to get the vibe that James Harden views his own career the way in which a 10 year old views the career of created player on 'NBA2K'. Like, there is not a doubt in my mind that the first thing he did when the season was over was pull up the stats and admire his work. Who cares that it took him thousands of shots and cost him the respect of his teammates to get there? Those numbers don't lie! After hearing him sound so shocked that he didn't make an All-NBA team I would imagine that his year end performance review went a little something like this...
J.B. Bickerstaff: Alright James, let's discuss your season. You came in out of shape. In a matter of weeks you managed to alienate every single one of your teammates to the extent that they held a player's only meeting to talk about how much they disliked playing with you. You engaged in a public 6 month long breakup with Dwight Howard and many times refused to acknowledge that he existed on the court. Lastly, you turned a team that was supposed to be a Championship contender into the most depressing, underwhelming 8 seed in the history of the NBA. What do you have to say for yourself?
James Harden: Wait, what? Sorry coach, I stopped listening. Did you see I finished 2nd in points per game?
Is James Harden really delusional enough to think the Rockets had a "good season"? Is he really so disconnected that he doesn't understand that his impressive stat line came at the expense of his team's success? He truly believes he's owed an appearance on an All-NBA team when he literally got laughed right out of the postseason? I honestly give up with this guy, and with the amount of candidates that Houston had to rummage through before they found one that was even mildly interested in becoming their head coach - I would imagine I am not the only person to think that way.
