Johnny Manziel Was Involved In A Hit-And-Run WIth A Light Pole, and You'll Never Guess Who Picked Him Up
TMZ- Johnny Manziel was a passenger in a car that allegedly hit a light pole and fled the scene in Hollywood this weekend ... and the person who picked him up after the crash was Josh Gordon.
TMZ Sports has learned ... Manziel was interviewed by LAPD about a crash that occurred on the Sunset Strip around 10:45 PM on Saturday night.
We're told ... cops believe the driver of the car was Manziel's good friend Ryan Silverstein -- aka OVO Ryan from Drake's OVO crew.
Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops believe Silverstein and Manziel left the scene on foot after the crash -- and were picked up by Cleveland Browns WR Gordon.
After cops arrived to the crash scene, we're told Silverstein and Manziel came BACK to the area ... and witnesses identified Ryan as the driver because of his recognizable beard.
Our sources tell us Manziel admitted to being a passenger in the car at the time of the crash -- but he's NOT accused of any criminal wrongdoing. Neither is Gordon for that matter.
First of all, this happened the SAME EXACT NIGHT as this...
Well, nothing screams "getting my life together" quite like hopping in the passenger side of your drunk friend's ride, and then running away on foot when he partially wraps it around a light pole. Johnny Manziel definitely has this self preservation thing down to a science. He may not know who he lives with, but three hours later he's got their number memorized for when he needs to be picked up from a crime scene in a timely manner.
You know, we have gotten to the point with Johnny Manziel where I am no longer surprised by anything he does. I was barely phased by the fact that he was involved in a hit-and-run. In fact, the only thing that I find shocking about this story - other than the fact that he wasn't completely responsible for the accident - is that Johnny Manziel still has so many people that choose to associate with him. He's got Von Miller trying to shove his resume under John Elway's door so he doesn't have to deal with the Broncos owner laughing directly in his face. Josh Gordon deciding the best way to get reinstated into the NFL is to become an alcoholic's getaway driver. Some white hipster that knows Drake as his DDD (drunk designated driver). Usually once you've fallen this far down the rabbit hole of drugs and alcohol even your closest, most degenerate friends stop answering your phone calls, but Johnny Manziel still has an entire posse ready to ride or die (of liver failure) for him. Not even remotely close to getting another chance in the NFL and he still has THREE different fall guys. He might not want him as his quarterback, but Cris Carter would be proud.
