Source- "I'm living out here with my guy, Von Miller. Everybody knows Von Miller. Super Bowl MVP, Von Miller, my brother. I'm living with him right now," Manziel told TMZ on Saturday night. "We're getting our lives together, bro."
Manziel's comments were made in the West Hollywood area. Manziel briefly commandeered the TMZ camera before the videographer started asking him questions.
However, sources tell ESPN that the quarterback is actually not living with Miller. Instead, the sources say, Manziel is living with Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon in an apartment off of Sunset Boulevard.
There aren't all that many legitimate reasons to lie to a news outlet about where you're staying, but living with a perennial offender of substance abuse when you - yourself - are clearly facing a battle with addiction is a damn good one. So I'm sorry Johnny, I owe you that apology. If I was a drunk that was seeking employment and lived with Josh Gordon I might tell a fib or two as well. He probably could have picked one that was more difficult to refute, but I have definitely heard blatantly wasted people tell more egregious lies than "Von Miller is my roommate" - whatever that's worth. Now, none of that explains why he was completely comfortable being absolutely shit-hammered in public, but it does explain why he intentionally tried to deceive people while he was. Johnny Football may be a complete waste of life, but don't say he's not a loyal waste of life. After all, he just tried to protect what's left of both he and his roommates reputations by hiding the fact that they were living with each other, and - more than likely - enabling one another. That's quite the intricate thought process for a blacked out 23 year old. He might be an alcoholic, but at least he's a functional alcoholic.
