Peyton Manning Really Pulled At The Heart Strings With His 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' Reference

Yahoo- Next question to Manning: Who is the host of this year's Oscar awards?

"Is it Chris Rock? He's still doing it, isn't he?" said Manning, studying the faces of those around him, before he answered more celebrity-related questions. That was until Smoove came into view. Said Manning, a huge "Curb Your Enthusiasm" fan, yelling to J.B.: "I'm not watching Season 9 unless Leon comes back. I think whether or not 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' is returning is a lot more important than whether I return."

Dammit, just when I thought I was all in on Panthers. Fucking Peyton Manning comes out of the clear blue and hits me right in my weak spot. I suppose I should have know that Peyton Manning was a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' fan (because everyone should be a 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' fan), but hearing him say so out loud was rather endearing. First Cam Newton's one month old son is only a potty training away from being a more versatile athlete than me, and now Peyton Manning is a big Leon guy? It's becoming prettay prettay preettaaaay hard not to feel a sense of camaraderie with the Broncos. Goddamn it, this is why I hate the week off. Media day just swooped right in and made me question my rooting interest.

How am I supposed to ignore Peyton Manning's incredible self awareness? Most athletes are too worried out their own careers to shed light on the uncertainty surrounding the future of a television show that brings attention to the intricacies of human interaction. Not Peyton Manning. He knows that a potential return of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' is far more important than the return of a quarterback whose arm strength suffered a quicker deterioration than Chet Steadman in 'Rookie Of The Year'. I think even Peyton Manning would choose another season of Larry David assassinating social situations over another year of quarterbacking the Denver Broncos. Who wouldn't? With the uproar over Calvin Johnson's NFL departure people surely have to realize that losing a gimpy Peyton Manning to retirement is no where near as big of a blow to society as losing Larry David in his prime. Even Denver Broncos fans should realize they are lucky to be where they are and that they should probably move onto a younger option regardless of Sunday's outcome. Peyton Manning is never going to do better than this Super Bowl appearance, but Curb Your Enthusiasm can undoubtedly still do better than Season 8. That point is not up for contention.
