Asinine turnovers? Dropping the proverbial/actual ball on gimme plays that professional athletes should be able to complete in their sleep? Keeping a game close through mutual incompetence? What the hell do the 76er's and Hornets think they are doing impinging on the NFL's branding? Everyone knows that Sundays (and Mondays and Thursdays, I suppose) are for shared ineptitude in team sports. With the return of Blake Griffin to freakish form, the emergence of James Harden as a (sit down for this one) viable ball distributor, and Anthony Davis' transition into a real-life 'Monstar'? There is farrrrr too much good going on in basketball for the NBA to stoop to the "soooo goddamn bad that it's actually intriguing" level of futility that professional football has. I know "The Process" has been a tumultuous one, but that sequence was so ugly that it made Joel Embiid question his namesake. Stick to what you guys do best. Be the league that's on the rise due to a wealth of young, must-see talent. Make us tune in because we want to watch, not because we feel like we have to. That's the NFL's job.
