Mr. Snead, your reality check... Oh, and please note that the tip is included...it reads "don't be dumb enough to become an unnecessary problem off the field when you're a Saints' skill position player". I'm not trying to say that the unforeseen addition of an previously undrafted, recently cut wide receiver whose skin color makes him tailor made for the team that ultimately decided to let him go is going to signal the end for someone who has proven himself as one of Drew Brees' most reliable targets. Austin Carr may be nothing more a player whose promising preseason earned him an extended look that could very well be temporary, but there was a day when the exact same could have been said about the person whose 3-game absence potentially made that extended look possible. I have no doubts that Willie Snead is genuinely remorseful about doing something as stupid as drinking and driving, but he should let his time away from the field serve as an eye-opening experience in more ways than one. You see, if there's a team - other than the Patriots - that knows how to pick undersized, sure handed wideouts that might not blow you away with their athleticism then it's the Saints. That's not to say someone who was on the cusp of 1,000 yards the last two seasons is expendable because his apparent replacement made a couple impressive snags against third stringers. It is to say that one should be weary of their job security when they have a contract negotiation coming up and they play for a team that's shipped off much more talented players in Jimmy Graham and Brandin Cooks - at least in part - due to off the field actions that weren't anywhere as dangerous as a DUI. If these Austin Carr highlights don't give you Lance Moore vibes then they probably give you Willie Snead vibes, and that should serve as quite the life lesson to the latter...
