No joke, when I saw that catch in real time I legitimately questioned whether or not my eyes were deceiving me. It was such a quick, smooth snag that it almost seemed too casual to have actually happened. Was I supposed to believe that none of the 60,000 cameras present felt compelled to cut away from their night-long, "dare you to cry" staring contest with Odell Beckham Jr. to show me a slow motion replay of what would have been the most impressive play of the season? I guess so, because when I saw a clip of that grab pop up on Twitter I was stunned it didn’t get more love during the broadcast. They say the mark of an incredible talent is not the ability to make extremely difficult plays, but to make those extremely difficult plays look easy. Really makes you wonder what held this random ass ball boy back from making some noise in the league, because that was the most nonchalant one hander these eyes have ever seen. Can’t say I have much confidence in his 40 time, but his hand-eye coordination is already on par with some of the best possession receivers in the game and that’s without the gloves that are one level of stickiness short of allowing their wearer to scale the side of buildings. Give this kid a well defined role in a suitable offense and he’ll be Cole Beasley’ing all over everybody’s ass. How could he not be with instincts that have him picking passes that weren’t intended for him out of mid-air while dressed like a crossing guard? Not saying he’s the next Julian Edelman, but give him a Tom Brady and he has to have more to offer than his services in peddling footballs to officials.
