Metro- A bigamist should have paid more attention to his privacy settings – after he was caught out when his wife saw pictures of his new wedding on Facebook.
Property developer Andrew McLeod-Baikie, 52, was seen happily smiling in the wedding snaps with his new wife Helen. First wife Susan, 51, called in police after being shocked at seeing her husband wed to another woman. Prosecutor Sian Vaughan said: ‘The first wife was informed by a friend that she had seen pictures of the wedding of the defendant and another female. ‘He informed her he had divorced her online two years previously.’ A court heard father-of-four McLeod-Baikie told police he paid £600 for an online divorce from Susan four years ago. But the divorce wasn’t official before he remarried to his second wife Helen, 48 – and he was arrested by police when his first wife told them: ‘He’s still officially married to me.’ And there you have it folks, a female's worst nightmare. Nope, it's not losing someone they currently love, or had loved at some point. It's the potential of seeing them happy with someone else. Nothing speaks to that more than Susan putting up a stink about her ex-husband getting married to a new woman without telling her. That $400 online divorce, that was clearly a sham in the first place, was enough for her to consider herself divorced when she thought her ex was just a lonely 52 year old man. Weird how quickly that tuned changed once she realized that he found another person to agree to put up with him. She went from technically single to officially married in the blink of a spiteful eye. This situation says everything you need to know about the differences in the two genders. A man, who wanted nothing more then a split with his wife, was too lazy to go about doing it right. Why head down to the court house to sign and notarize a bunch of shit when you can just type "quick and easy divorce" into Google, fill in a couple tabs with your names, and print out some document that says your single? Don't work hard, work smart. He's 52 years old, how was he supposed to know not to believe everything you see on the internet? Meanwhile his wife, who surely knew that an online divorce was a complete hoax just sat there and let them remain married as long as she didn't have any potential suitors on the horizon. Just patiently waiting for the moment that he did so she could bust out the fun fact that he's still a legally taken man. Probably had the biggest goddamn smile on her face as she watched him get arrested for something that was easily avoidable had she opened her mouth 4 years prior. I guess I have to give credit where credit is due. Most ex-girlfriends/ex-wives just use their instinctual clairvoyance to know when to send a text that will screw up a blossoming relationship, but at least this broad took it one step further by having a contract to justify her jealousy. P.S. Are we sure this "friend" found these picture on "Facebook", or is it possible that this "friend" was stalking from a couple hundred yards away and making good use of a zoom lens?
