Video Shows Will Smith's Car Making Contact With Cardell Hayes' Car Before The Altercation That Cost Him His Life
I can't believe it was all over this. I truly can't believe that a human being is dead primarily because of what I just watched. I didn't know it was possible, but this video - which shows that the person that originally "hit" Cardell Hayes' car was Will Smith - actually makes me think less of Cardell Hayes as a person. I refuse to even call this a 'hit-and-run', this was at most a bump-and-drive. Leave it to the type of person that drives a bright orange Hummer to become uncontrollably angered after he abruptly slams on his brakes in the middle of the street for no apparent reason, and the car behind him doesn't bother to stop after slightly tapping his spare tire. To be honest I barely noticed contact, but with the way he took off after Will Smith I think it's fair to assume that's what happened. Cardell Hayes spare tire acted as a 'Bumper Bully' between his car and the car of Will Smith. Nothing more. I would guess the extent of that damage - in a worst case scenario - was a scuffed excess wheel. Cardell Hayes chased a man through the city and slammed into the back of his car to exact revenge for a possible scuffed excess wheel that occurred during something I would hesitate to even call an accident.
Should Will Smith have pulled over? Yes, he should have. Do I blame him for not pulling over? Not really. Considering the time of night, the crime rate in New Orleans, and the fact that only douchebags drive orange Hummers, I might have sped off after harmless incidental contact too. Whatever the case may be, that is no reason for someone to lose their life, and I am admittedly tired of talking about the logistics of how said person lost their life. Is there still uncertainty surrounding everything that happened? Yes. However, there is no uncertainty surrounding the fact that this was an egregious act of violence that was completely uncalled for given everything we've heard and everything we've now watched.
