Metro- A father stopped lifeguards from rescuing his drowning daughter because he did not want ‘strange men’ to touch her.
The man grappled with lifeguards as they tried to save the 20-year-old woman, telling them if they touched his daughter it would ‘dishonour her’. The young woman died in the incident which happened on a beach in Dubai. ‘The Asian father took his wife and kids to the beach for picnic and fun.' ‘The kids were swimming in the beach when suddenly, the 20-year-old girl started drowning and screaming for help.' ‘Two rescue men were at the beach, and they rushed to help the girl. ‘This obstacle was the belief of this Asian man who considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonour her. It cost him the life of his daughter.’ He said: ‘The father was a tall and strong man. He started pulling and preventing the rescue men and got violent with them.' ‘He told them that he prefers his daughter being dead than being touched by a strange man.' Well, this guy is terrible father. Actually, I think it is fair to take one step further and say that he is a terrible person. However, if there is one thing this guy is not, it's a man that allows himself any ambiguity when it comes to his beliefs. Hey, for better or worse, you will not lay a hand on that man's daughter. The amount of dedication that it takes to stick to that philosophy even when your daughter is drowning is something I can respect. Sure, most people say that they don't want strange men touching their daughter in hopes of protecting her, not in a direct effort to put her in more danger, but this man is very literal when it comes to his position. Now sure, If he didn't want strange men touching his daughter he probably could have used his length and strength to save her himself, instead of trying to prevent 'strange men' from doing so, but he got caught up in the moment. It's very stressful when your morals are being compromised. He probably didn't have a chance to think it all the way through. Don't tell me this man didn't care about his daughter's life. he fought off TWO rescue men at the same time to make sure she wasn't dishonored. She may have left this world too early, but at least it was an honorable discharge into the afterlife. If you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything. This man stood for his daughters purity, even if it cost her her livelihood in the process. At least he didn't fall for a bunch of lifeguards trying to violate his daughter's innocence. P.S. If some Asian guy is able to hold back two lifeguards while a young girl is dying then it might be time to institute a tougher lifeguard preparatory course. Outmuscling an Asian two-on-one should be a day one Lifeguard Academy activity.
