A Cop In Indiana Assumed A Mother Was On Meth Because She Had Terrible Teeth

Source- Stephanie Foltz was pulled over for speeding in Tippecanoe County, Indiana, when Trooper Thomas Manning accused her of smoking methamphetamine after catching a glimpse of her teeth.

Stephanie told WTHR she simply inherited less-than-pearly whites and has never touched meth. The condition of her teeth reportedly deteriorated after she gave birth.

"What happened to your teeth?" Manning is heard asking in an audio recording of the exchange captured by Stephanie’s husband, Matt Foltz.

“Childbirth," Stephanie, a young mother, replies. 

"Are you saying your children did that to you?" Manning says.

"During pregnancy, they take calcium out of your body and the first place it comes from is teeth," Stephanie responds.

"I don't believe you," the trooper says. "I know they do take calcium from your body, but they don't do it in that way.”

​"After that conversation, it makes me not want to talk to anyone," she told WTHR. "If he has that perception of me, who's to say somebody else doesn't, you know?”

Oh, really shocking you decided not to open your mouth for the picture Stephanie. Wonder why that is. You think maybe it's because gross teeth are despicable and almost anyone that doesn't have them will almost certainly not side with a person that does have them when given the choice? 

Hey officer, subtlety...you're doing it wrong. You can't just go around assuming that everyone that looks like they don't brush a couple of times a day is on hallucinogenics. I mean, I think it's safe to assume that Indiana is having a HUGE meth problem if their law enforcement's instinctual reaction to bad teeth it to claim that it's currently in use. However, you still need more proof then a couple rotten fangs. With that said, how many warning signs are we going to ignore with this lady? She "inherited" bad teeth? "Childbirth" is responsible for their deteriorating condition? Know who else blames people close to them for all of their problems? Drug abusers. I don't know if Stephanie Foltz does meth, but I know her involuntary reaction to throw others under the bus is the exact same thing that a meth user would do. Childbirth may cause a calcium deficiency, but I know plenty of American moms that aren't walking around looking like British moms. This cop was just playing it safe so that he didn't end up sorry if this woman had a meth fueled fit and bite his leg or something. Not saying this woman did anything wrong, other than completely ignore her dental health, but I do know that no one with a nice set of pearly whites has ever been unjustly labeled as a meth head. If the end result of this confrontation was that she talks to less people out of shame then I think it's fair to say that more people are better off.

“[Stephanie] is an amazing friend, mother, daughter, and wife,” Wolfe wrote on the GoFundMe page. "She doesn't have the funds to get her teeth fixed. If we could all pitch in it would help tremendously." As of Sept. 30, $35 of the $1,000 goal had been raised.

Of course. Of course she has a GoFundMe. Hope they got someone keeping on where that money goes because $35 isn't enough to get good dental care, but I would assume it's enough to buy a crystal or two.


​P.S. If you didn't laugh out loud when the cop said "how long have you been doing meth?" out of nowhere then we can't be friends anymore, but he is a HUGE dick for that assumption.
