Metro- A lottery winner has spoken of the domestic violence he suffered at the hands of his girlfriend after bagging a £1million jackpot.
Matt Myles became rich on the EuroMillions raffle just three weeks after breaking up with fitness trainer Carla Chamberlain, 24. The 28-year-old left his job as an electrical engineer and went on a seven-month long ‘bender’ with his friends that took him around the world while staying in five-star hotels. When he returned home to Hereford Carla told Matt she wanted to rekindle their romance. However the relationship soon turned sour again, and when Carla saw a Snapchat message on Matt’s phone from another woman, she became violent. He told MailOnline: ‘Carla said, “Why the **** are you getting pictures from her? I bet she sends you more than that.” She’d just had huge, acrylic glittery nails done and she scratched my face. I told her to get off and then she punched me in the face.’ She also allegedly hit Matt in the groin and pulled him to the ground in the attack. ‘Domestic violence against men is still very much taboo or perceived as a joke but it’s no laughing matter for the victim,’ he said. ‘The lottery win was the most amazing thing that ever happened to me but ironically it also led to the worst thing that ever happened in my life – suffering domestic abuse at the hands of the woman I loved.’ Let's take a little test. We'll make it multiple choice for those of you that aren't good at standardized testing... 1) Which of these things should you not do after winning the lottery? a) Grab your friends and travel around the world. b) Get back with your ex-girlfriend. c) Spend 7 months staying in 5-star hotels. d) Get super drunk every night. I hate to break this to you, but if you're answer wasn't b) then you shouldn't even be allowed to purchase a ticket. Hey Matt, you know what I heard doesn't fix dysfunctional relationships? A large influx of money. I'm not sure why you and Carla broke up, but something tells me she wasn't of the purist intentions when she decided she wanted you back 8 months later. The fact that it took an additional million dollars in your bank account for her to accept you as you are didn't exactly bode too well for the future. I understand that you got back from a 7 moth bender and probably felt a little lonely after getting blind drunk with your friends every day, but maybe hit up Tinder before you rekindle an old flame. The last person you want to be around when you have additional money to spend is a woman that knows how to get you to spend it. There's only two things that are sure to attract other women. Money and the presence of a girlfriend. You already had one so you definitely don't need the other. Oh, poor Matt. He got rich off pure luck, did a drunken tour of the entire world with all his buddies, then got punched in the dick by his girlfriend. Call up every single girl I have every kissed and they can punch me in the dick right now if the payout is in the millions. Does this guy expect anyone to feel bad for him? First of all, I don't care what Matt says, domestic violence against men is only not funny because it's GODDAMN HILARIOUS. If the worst thing that ever happened to him was getting beat up by his girlfriend, then the worst thing that ever happened to him was totally avoidable by not getting back with her. I'm only victim shaming because there hasn't ever been a victim more deserving of shaming. All that money and you still couldn't buy a clue? Everyone knows that retreads don't work and they are the single biggest reason men get punched in balls. Just be glad that unlike every other failed re-relationship that ended in groin pain that you have a million dollars to help you ease that discomfort.
