A Vegan Woman Is Facing 10 Years In Prison For Trying To Give Water to Pigs On The Way To The Slaughterhouse

Metro- A woman who fed water to pigs on their way to slaughter could face up to 10 years in prison, after being charged with criminal mischief. 

Anita Krajnc, 48, clashed with the driver of a vehicle carrying pigs to a pork processing plant in Toronto in June.

A video shows her saying,  ‘If they are thirsty, give them water.’

The driver responds, ‘You know what? These are not humans, you dumb frickin’ broad.’

Kranj said after a pre-trial meeting this week: ‘It’s an outrage. It’s insane to charge somebody with criminal mischief for doing that.’


Listen, I'm not crazy. I realize that giving a woman ten years in prison for giving water to a handful of pigs before they get executed for human consumption seems a bit extreme. However, do you know what else is extreme? Expecting to make a difference in the processing of packaged meats. Thinking that a bottle or two of water fed to a 2% of a truck load of pigs is somehow changing the end result. Those pigs are all but dead. They would be all but dead if Anita Krajnc gave them water, they would be all but dead if Anita Krajnc didn't give them water. Maybe it's going to take an over the top sentence like a decade in prison to show these vegans that their actions aren't going to make a damn difference in how much pork gets manufactured.

​That's my main issue with the vegan population. They just don't get it. That truck probably has about 100 pigs in it. It would have 100 pigs in it if Anita Krajnc ate bacon, and it would have 100 pigs in it if Anita Krajnc didn't eat bacon. Now that decision is obviously up to her, but its' not going to make a single bit of a goddamn difference in the population of pigs. Just stick to your salads and do what everyone else does, ignore how admittedly inhumane the process of putting pork chops on my plate is. If you don't then you are going to have a lot of sleepless nights on that cold jail floor, and I promise you there won't be too many pigs there to keep you hydrated.

P.S. "Dumb frickin' broad" is the exact insult I would expect to come out of a slaughterhouse transporter's mouth.
