I absolutely love this move from Rico here. It's not because I think he deserved to be on the 'NHL 17' cover or because I really care whether or not he ever does grace the 'NHL 17' cover. I love this move because it shows that - even in the offseason - Henrique is dedicated to making himself one of the faces of the franchise. With the way he has been active on social media and the way Cory Schneider has been making appearances on the NHL Network it can't be too long until people realize that the New Jersey Devils have a quite a few talented players with affable personalities. It might seem like a well photoshopped Trump parody (that he absolutely did not do by himself) is just an intricate attempt to get a laugh, and that probably has something to do with it as well. That said, you can probably count the amount of players that have assumed significant public leadership roles for this franchise over the last 20+ years on one hand. Given the state of the media in 2016 this is just another act of Henrique doing so. Seeing as he and Schneider appear to be here for the long haul, I appreciate anything and everything they do to help promote this team, even if it means endorsing themselves.
