The Guardian- Arizona State University has suggested that fans avoid using face paint of any color ahead of Saturday’s annual ‘blackout’ game against Colorado at Sun Devil Stadium.

The request comes after a series of blackface controversies sparking national headlines have marred the annual tradition.

The Sun Devils wear all-black uniforms for one home game each season and encourage their fans to follow suit. Yet several isolated groups of students have used the occasion as a pretext to don blackface, a form of theatrical makeup that evokes regrettable stereotypes and is uniformly regarded as racist.

“As an inclusive and forward-thinking university, it is important for us to foster an environment in which everyone feels safe and accepted,” the Tempe university said in a statement. “Therefore, we discourage the use of face paint at any event, whether the theme is black, maroon, gold or white, and ask our fans to show their Sun Devil Pride in other ways.

“We look forward to working with all of Sun Devil Nation on continuing to show our support in ways that all of us can appreciate and embrace.”

White people.

No, that's the end of the title. "Arizona State Had To Tell Their Fans Not To Wear Face Paint For Their Blackout Game Because, Well, You Know...White People". Sorry, had to leave you on the hook there for a second so I could finally reel you in.

"Hey student body, I feel it's weird that we have to tell you this again, but uhhhh, don't paint your faces like African Americans. Get as drunk as you want. Fuck as many hot, young co-eds as you want. Just don't lather yourself head to toe in shoe polish. Is that a simple enough request?".

Sure, most people with a brain should already know it's frowned upon, but that's why ASU is an institution of higher learning. They teach kids the necessary tools to not get themselves murdered in a diverse environment. That's all college is anyway. A 4 year vacation where you are granted the responsibility to keep yourself alive. How are a bunch of entitled white kids that are just there to party supposed to remember not to offend other racial groups with face paint if you don't constantly remind them? They already have to remember to pick up booze, feed themselves, occasionally go to class, and breathe. One thing at a time, and not offending others is like 5th on that list.

In a way, it's endearing. Fucking kids are so sheltered that they have no idea that what they are doing is wrong or why it is wrong. That's why ASU had to ban all colors of face paint. instead of just black. You leave it up to the discretion of a bunch of drunken Chad's and they are bound to get creative with the color wheel and turn their bodies into an unintentionally racist canvas. Just leave the body paint at home Sun Devils fans, I'm sure you guys can still have a blast without it. Plus, it would be sure to ruin some sheets after you undoubtedly went home with hot, blonde, horny broad next you that refused to let you shower before getting down to business.
