USA Today- An 18-month-old died Tuesday in an elementary school parking lot after her mother inadvertently left the girl in the back seat of the car while she went inside to teach, authorities said.

Jamie Buckley of Panama City, Fla., did not discover her daughter, Reagan Buckley, until the end of the school day around 3:15 p.m. CT, according to a press release from Frank McKeithen, Bay County sheriff. Reagan was still in her car seat and was pronounced dead at the scene.

She had been in the car in the parking lot of Cedar Grove Elementary School since before 7:30 a.m., he said.

Temperatures in the area Tuesday rose to 83 degrees and were about 70 degrees at 7 a.m., according to Weather Underground.

Hey Reagan, want to come to "Bring Your Child To Work Day"? Nah, I'm good. If only that kid could talk. Hey listen, I am not mad at this mother for forgetting her daughter was in the backseat. We are all guilty of forgetting things. Just last week I forgot my coffee on the roof of my car. Is that as important as a child? Well, I don't have a child so relatively speaking, yes, yes it is. The true tragedy in this isn't that this woman left her kid in the car. That could happen to anyone. I'm sure having to know where another human being is at all times can be quite hard. Hell, after a few drinks even I don't know where I am sometimes. The real tragedy is that this woman didn't realize she left her kid in the car for 8 HOURS. What else could this woman possibly have on her mind? I don't want to harp on the coffee too much but it took me about a half a block to stop the car and grab it.  I would think just remembering that you had a child would be enough to jog the old memory. Did staring at a room of 25+ little shitheads all day not remind you that in just a few years the child sitting in your backseat would have become a little shithead too. Now you're probably going to lose your job and your freedom, and you don't even have a potential shithead to call your own.

18 months probation seems a little lenient, no? For leaving a kid in a smoldering hot car all day? Think about everything this woman did while her child was dying and I think we can at least put her behind bars for a couple years. She undoubtedly had a couple coffee breaks, had a lunch break, gossiped about the bitchy English teacher, stared at the hot gym teacher's ass, and wrote a bunch of shit on the board that no one fucking paid attention to anyway. Probably thought about strangling at least 8 kids while hers was slowly dying in the car. Put in charge of the well being of hundreds of bratty kids while she can't even take care of her own. I would say this woman should be put to death, but I think if we give her long enough she might just forget to live.
