As much as I enjoy a majority of Bill Simmons podcasts, I can generally do without his repeated criticisms of any and all happenings at ESPN. Not because he's in the wrong, but because they come across as petty, spiteful, and disingenuous considering how much his former employer did for the trajectory of his career. Now I say that to say this; This one was fucking funny. Touché, Bill. You got me. It was about a second and half after this clip ended that I said "wait, wha..OHHHHH!!!". I know it's Stephen A. Smith's job is to sit on a panel with Skip Bayless, come up with over the top opinions, and talk about them as if they are his genuine beliefs, but that's a process I simply won't trust. When it comes to being an educated sports personality he is the equivalent of Sam Hinkie. He has quite literally stunk up the joint on purpose for years on end - to the liking of no one - and been rewarded handsomely for it. I don't think he's nearly as dumb as the things he says most of the time, so for that reason there is no more accurate way to describe him than an intentional tanker. So I want Bill Simmons to do me a favor. I want him to tone down the ESPN hate...unless it's as simple, sarcastic, and deadly accurate as this little pot shot at the man that just can't stop listening to himself talk. You won this time Bill, because you definitely got a laugh out of me, and you most likely got one from Sam Hinkie too... h/t Uproxx
