Okay, so maybe "crushed it" is a bit extreme. I wasn't exactly ROFLMAO or anything, but there also wasn't a single second of uncomfortable silence that had me praying that the 'Wrap It Up!' box would start playing it's passive aggressive tune. When it comes to trying your hand at something as difficult as stand-up comedy when your primary occupation isn't stand-up comedy then you'll get a "crushed it" from me as long as you don't completely embarrass yourself. Not only did Blake not embarrass himself, but he was actually quite entertaining. Definitely seen people that had more invested in telling jokes on stage that were infinitely worse at telling jokes on stage. If he plans on going on a post retirement tour then his set could use some work, but as a 'one night only' funny man his misdirection, audience participation, and inclusion of a relevant hockey joke while performing in Montreal were extremely admirable. At the very least you can tell why he would be Michael Jordan's choice to star in 'Space Jam 2'. The affable personality was shining through despite some material that would probably land Blake on Adam Silver's naughty list. Now if only he could stay composed and maintain that sense of humor after a couple of beers and a few one liners from his equipment staff then we wouldn't have to see images like this...
