Bobby Farnham Tells Brandon Prust To Get Within 3,000 Miles Next Time He Wants To Talk That Shit11/11/2015 Fire&Ice- “I'm always expecting someone to come after me the way I play,” Farnham said before tonight's 2-0 loss to St. Louis. “That's kind of just the role you play there. You toe that line all the time and it's always something in the back of my mind whether there's commentary from social media or not. It's just something you go into a game prepared for whatever comes to you.”
Farnham, who was claimed off waivers from Pittsburgh on Oct. 27, saw what Prust tweeted and said, “I don't really have much to say about it. He wasn't involved in the game and it would be wrong of me to respond to it in any way,” Farnham said. “The way I look at it is, the kid Jake is a tough kid. He's lined up across from me in the National Hockey League, we're both National Hockey League players and he did a great job for his team and I was trying to gain momentum for my team and that's pretty much all it was.” “It was just heat of the moment,” he said. “I've done it before and it's nothing against anybody. I know the role I play and the way I play I kind of play on emotion and passion and that's how I responded to that moment.” “It doesn't bother me at all,” he said. “I play that role to get under the other team's skin and do it that way. There was a lot going on in that game and to be 3,000 miles away and say something doesn't seem right and it doesn't seem respond to something like that either.” Shots. Fired. You got something to say Prusty? How about saying it to Bobby Farnham's face? You want to talk that talk? Then ice up, lace up the wheels, and start walking that walk first. I mean, at the very least be within 1,000 miles before you let your Twitter fingers get itchy. Doesn't look like the Devils lineup is changing Brandon. Time is ticking. Eleven days until you have your chance to back up those inflammatory words. Maybe less insults from behind the computer screen and more rehab? Wouldn't want you to miss your shot at getting redemption for your teammtate. I know Bobby is waiting patiently. That lunatic probably already has your face plastered on a punching bag in his apartment just in case you make it back for November 22nd. Hey, he may be an AHL caliber talent, but he's putting up far more NHL minutes than you lately. The numbers don't lie, Brandon. God, I LOVE this team. Not just because they are unequivocally playing much better hockey than last year or because they are finding ways to win, but because they are even entertaining off the ice too. We got Jordin Tootoo on the verge of the ending Alex Burrows life for being a loudmouth scumbag, and Bobby Farnham roaming the ice like a roided-out bull with rabies pissing off everyone in his wake along the way. What storylines did we have to follow last year? Setting the record as the first team in NHL history to have three Head Coaches? Who was going to be the first player in the top 9 to develop Alzheimer's? I wish I could come up with more, but the 2014 Devils were so fucking boring that even their fake narratives lack entertainment value. This year we got a decent brand of hockey, hope for the future, and an off ice story or two to scratch the itch developed by the comatose teams of yesteryear. I couldn't possibly have expected to have as much fun throughout the course of the entire season that I have already had through 15 games. Sure, they lost a tough one to the Blues last night, but that was probably just their way of tempering expectations before blowing out the Blackhawks again on Friday. This team may not be as good as their record over the last ten games, but they are no where close to as bad as everyone thought they would be. They are infinitely more fun to watch, infinitely more fun to follow, and when Tootoo finally gets his hands on Burrows, they will be infinitely more fun to watch fight as well. Let's just hope the Twitter troll gets healthy, because I have never had as much fun watching a 4th line goon as I have had watching Bobby Farnham (no offense Cam Janssen), and that's pretty symbolic of the season thus far.
