Second-year receiver Brandon Coleman has drawn constant comparisons to fellow big man Marques Colston since he joined the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted rookie last year. But Coleman apparently felt like he took that comparison too far when he dressed up in Colston’s jersey and helmet while signing autographs for fans after Sunday’s practice at The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia.
Correct me if I am wrong, but if you are a big enough Saints fan to travel to West fucking Virginia to get a glimpse of training camp shouldn't you know the difference between Marques Colston and Brandon Coleman? Yeah, I get that Coleman was wearing Colston's jersey and helmet. I get that they are both black wide receivers of a similar height and could be mistaken for each other from afar, but come on now. If you can't differentiate between a player that has been an integral part of the Saints success over the last decade and a player that has never even laced them up in a meaningful game then you don't deserve either of their autographs. What was the end result? That a couple of people ended up with a Brandon Coleman autograph? That would have been the exact same result if he was wearing his own equipment. You don't get to be the fan that can't tell the distinct difference between two different players faces and voices AND be the fan that can't laugh at himself. Don't be the guy that can't take a joke just because the joke was made at your expense. Either way you probably weren't getting a Colston autograph. Maybe it's best not to share with others that you can't tell the difference between two tall black guys. If anything that's a poor reflection on you, not a poor reflection on a player that tried to get a laugh while also taking time out of his day to sign autographs for the fans. This really just goes to show the whorish qualities of autograph seekers. It's not about the player. It's about his signature on a photo, or a jersey, or a football. If a fan were so distraught because they were such a huge fan of Marques Colston then they would know they were being made sport of the second they were face-to-face with Brandon Coleman. Be a better fan for me one time. You spent all day reaching over a guard rail to get signatures of players that you can't recognize from 6 inches away. Unless you are a child under the age of 10, do you realize how pathetic that makes you seem? Even if you wanted to complain about it, it's probably best not to. These guys are out there working their ass off all day to make the New Orleans Saints. Any attention they want to show fans before or after is supplementary to their job description. Just be glad some of the players have enough respect for the people that pay their salaries to come out and show some appreciation, don't be upset that is wasn't the player that you wanted it to be...even if he was wearing his jersey number. Coleman is at least one solid shade darker. Don't be so oblivious Saints fans. Not all black wideouts look the same. It's not like they are Asian or something...

My sentiments EXACTLY! Let the kid live! This was actually hilarious. Brandon Coleman has definitely moved up on my list of favorite Saints Players...and please believe that when I see him, I'll know what he looks like!
