Bucs Corner, C.J. Wilson, Was Injured In Firework Accident And Isn't Even Getting Full Credit For It

PFT- A new report says the hand injury suffered by Buccaneers cornerback C.J. Wilson in a Fourth of July fireworks accident was very serious.

The Lincoln Times-News in Wilson’s hometown of Lincolnton, North Carolina reports that Wilson lost two fingers in the accident. The report cites sources close to the family and says the incident occurred at home in Lincolnton, with family and close friends present.

Such an injury would be career-threatening for Wilson, a 25-year-old who has been in the NFL for two years. Wilson entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina State, played in 2013 for the Bears and then signed last year with the Bucs.

Well, thanks a lot JPP. A SuperBowl ring, a successful career, and a potential 8 figure contract weren't enough? The one time for C.J. Wilson to hit the news circuit and get some publicity, whether it be negative publicity or not (it would all be negative), and you have to jump in and be the more famous moron? Hey, I'm not saying C.J. Wilson wants to be known around the league as an idiot, but it is far better than not being known at all. If you you are going to blow your hand off and most likely mortgage your future at the very least you want to be the headliner on sports media.

C.J Wilson lost his hand the same day JPP. Since then JPP has had his every move monitored, about 100 different stories about the severity of his injury and his recovery period, his own hashtag, and countless pictures of his face cropped on to any and every one handed/one armed television character in history. Meanwhile, we didn't even find out about C.J. Wilson until 4 days later when we don't have any jokes left because everyone has already ran the well dry on JPP. People don't even want to talk about one handed athletes anymore. That was soooo 2 two days ago. Now not only is C.J. Wilson probably going to end up out of the sport, but we don't even care enough to make sport of him. If you are the second most famous professional athlete to try to blow yourself up on any given day you might as well be the 100th. It's like the mentally handicapped version of being the second person to walk on the moon. C.J. Wilson is to JPP as Buzz Aldrin is to Neil Armstrong. That's just the sad analogical truth.
