You know, if Cam Newton didn't inexplicably have more NFL MVP awards than Drew Brees then I jussssst might feel bad for him. Honestly, I don't know who he sold his soul to, but apparently the going rate was nothing more than 15 wins and a Super Bowl appearance, because last year's coming out party couldn't possibly be further in the rearview. Cam Newton is catching so many L's that you could almost make the argument that last year was an aberration and that he's really closer to the up-and-down, mistake prone player he was the first 4 years of his career. I won't do that because I don't want to piss off the football gods that have the Saints on a 3 week (ALWAYS count the bye) undefeated streak, but it's not normal to go from Super Bowl contender to NFC South bottom feeder in one offseason. If that plunge from relevance doesn't have you raising your eyebrows than the fact that Cam Newton can't even do the one thing that even the most casual of racists applauded - handing touchdown balls to little kids - without getting owned certainly should. And trust me, I don't endorse this kid's decision to wear a Scam Newton jersey tee as a Saints fan. I think his father - who appears to be a loser - should be ashamed of himself for allowing such behavior. That said, a scam at the expense of someone who potentially scammed the entirely league into thinking that he was the best quarterback in his division is not only a scam I can live with, but a scam I can get a hearty, maniacal laugh at the day after an all-too-important divisional victory.
