Source- A local high school student said his Christian school is discriminating against him because he’s gay, and he’s taken to an online petition to fight back. Bryce Goodson said that he came out as gay on Twitter and the next day was told by school officials at Providence High School not to attend or participate in a school function. The petition reads, “Shortly after I came out as gay on Twitter, I was contacted by a teacher and was told that the Providence School Board decided it would be unwise for me to attend the Pony Awards (the awards ceremony for our school musical, Little Women).” The petition has a goal of 1,000 signatures and as of Thursday had more than 400 signatures. Goodson said that he’s no longer enrolled at Providence High School and declined an interview. His father said despite the online petition they’re not commenting at this point. This Providence high school coming in hot with the most egregious case of turning a blind eye in recent history, Yup, ignore the gays until they pop up on your twitter feed. That's what I have always said. They might be schooled in the art of modern technology, but they aren't schooled in the art of acceptance. You know how I know that this school has been harboring homosexuality for years? Well for one, it's 2015, and I am not oblivious to society. However, more importantly, I know that a school that presents a musical every year might lend itself to some sexual ambiguity. I am not saying that every male actor in a play is gay. I am saying at least 40% of the male actors in a musical are gay. 2 outta 5 ain't bad. If we are being honest that's probably a drastic undersell. Keeping the queer to a minimum is the best you can possibly hope for. You want to keep all forms of penis on penis crime out of your devout catholic school then it looks like you are going to have to cancel 'Little Women' for the foreseeable future. At the very least you're going to have to put on eardrum shattering rendition. You can't have your gay and hate it too. God forbid you teach the students anything about advertising. You don't want gay people in your school then don't promote the annual musical. If I take a shit on my balcony I'm not going to be mad when the flies show up. I went to catholic school. The play director was as gay as the day is long. Even saw a little gay spill over into the classroom when he doubled as the English teacher. If homosexuality was even mildly contagious I would have been swallowing dicks at 15. You want a strong arts program in the school then you have to compromise the beliefs found in a zillion year old book. I'm sure God had more important things to tend to than a high school play that day. Probably didn't even notice the second lead blowing kisses to his boyfriend stage side. Sometimes a little artistic integrity is more important than a couple antiquated theories about sexual preference. P.S. Coming out on Twitter. Are you even gay if you don't reach a certain amount of retweets?
