I guess I should give Clay Matthews a pass for this one? After all, it was in the heat of the moment. Plus, he kind of just strikes me as a huge meathead. Can't imagine that he fancies himself an expert in the department of wit. Regardless, telling Colin Kaepernick he is no Russell Wilson is a terrible insult. When you are facing a heated rival on the road you better come up with better trash talk than that. The last thing I want to do is come to the defense of Kaepernick's offensive offense, but he already knows he's not Russell Wilson. Merely mentioning the two in the same breathe is a compliment to Kaepernick. It would be like if I walked into a bar and someone screamed out, "you're no Jason Statham, bro!". I would be fucking psyched that someone thought there was even a comparison to be made there.
Hey Clay, you're late bro. Your joke is outdated. Made a lot of sense in 2013, but ehhh, not so much now. Not sure exactly what time that train left the station, but it was headed to the site of the SuperBowl and Kaepernick very clearly wasn't on it. In fact, if this season is any indication, it appears that he got on the train headed in the wrong direction, because Kaepernick went from a legitimate young star to quite possibly one of the worst quarterbacks in the sport. It doesn't count as a good burn if it's already painfully obvious to the person it's directed towards. You really want to get under his skin Clay? Tell him he's no 35 year old Michael Vick. In 2015 that's a much more accurate, and damning portrayal of how far Kaepernick has fallen in the quarterback ranks. For Christ's sake. He's a couple bad games away from getting benched for BLAINE GABBERT, a guy that couldn't even win the starting job in Jacksonville. Leave Russell Wilson out of this. They may play in the same division, but they aren't even in the same league.
