“I like to break the season up into three segments,” Green explained. “You’ve got the start of the season all the way up until the All-Star break. The few weeks before the All-Star Game are kind of the dog days where you’re just there. Then after the All-Star Game you kind of get that second wind, and it lasts about three weeks. Then, all of a sudden, you’re just sitting there again. Then you got the playoffs, where you get your real wind.

“I think we’re at a point now where it’s just human nature and like, alright, I’m kind of ready for the regular season to end. There’s 82 games — you get bored with that after a while.”

Well, isn't that ironic. For the first 75 games of the season - when they were losing once a month - Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors couldn't have been more dialed in and focused on winning. Now they lose two of three in the last week and half of the season and it's because they are bored. Thank God this is just Draymond Green giving it to us real like always, or it would come awfully close to sounding like an excuse.

Listen, I am sure the Warriors are bored with the regular season. I have almost become bored with their regular season. Sometimes it gets old watching them drive a nail into their opposition's coffin in the second quarter, so I can understand that how they would feel fatigued playing games that are relatively meaningless to their playoff position down the stretch. With that said, I don't want to hear them say it. Not when they are in the midst of the most decorated regular season in NBA history. No team has put as much of an emphasis on regular season games as the Warriors have this year. Draymond Green, specifically, has never shied away from referencing the records his team has been on pace to break. He can't stress the importance of making history all year, and then back away from those words when their ability to make history is suddenly in jeopardy. You're bored with the last two weeks the season Dray? Well, I have gotten bored listening to sportscasters do game-by-game predictions of the last half of the Warriors season and estimating their chances of reaching 72 wins, but I didn't say anything because I realize how awesome it would be if they did. You made this bed, and you're going to lie in it for at least another week until the lease is up and you can officially call the postseason home.
