Independent- Art experts have become the latest group to be offended by Fox News, after the US broadcaster covered up the depiction of women’s breasts and genitals in a report on the sale of a Pablo Picasso masterpiece.

The Women of Algiers (Version O) became the most expensive painting sold at auction on Monday when it went for $179 million (£114 million) at Christie’s in New York.

But in reporting on the setting of this new world record, someone in the Fox newsroom apparently decided that life painting was in fact offensive or sexual rather than simply artistic.

I am not exactly an art apologist. I realize that requirements for something to be considered art have basically been flushed down America's shitter. I mean, I could get my easel ready, stick my dick in a can of paint and slap it on a canvas and make a legitimate claim that it's artistic expression. However, in my heart of hearts, I can't agree with that sentiment. Regardless, isn't it widely accepted that Pablo Picasso is one of the greatest artists in history?  Like dude's been dead for a million years and his paintings are selling for nearly 200 million dollars. I am in firm belief that something's value can outweigh it's offensiveness. That's the reason you can still see Floyd Mayweather's face on cable TV. You absolutely should be able to outbid the blur. For Christ's sake, a respectable budget and the 'art' label is basically the only difference between pornography and rom-coms at this point.

Hey, Fox News, I know you guys are pretty conservative. I know it's in your nature to be one sided and assume anything and everything in this world is somehow negative, but open up your minds. Its called abstract art, ever heard of it? Get a little symbolism in your life. What a bunch of boobs over there at Fox. Those aren't a few sets of tits in that painting. Okay, fine, maybe they are, but look beyond a couple of painted circles with dots in the middle. Those luscious bosums represent women's fertility. Do you have a problem with fertile women? They represent a woman's right to express her beauty? Are you against a women's right to sexual expression? Well, are you Fox News? Why does a boob always gotta be a boob you self righteous bastards? This is sexism at it's finest. Call in the firing squad. Get the feminists on the line. We've got a cause over here. Those stick in the mud conservatives are marginalizing women again. Just blurring out every aspect of what it means to be a female in this country. Next you know they'll be throwing burkas over the symbolic femininity in a thousand year old painting. God forbid the world knows what a fictional tit looks like. Just one time would it kill you to paint a bra Picasso? There are fucking children watching.
