Annnnnd thus concludes the most telling response in sports history. It probably could have gone without question after watching Tony Parker inefficiently limp for two short steps before getting flat out carried off the floor, but "it's not good" might as well have been "it's really fucking bad". When you don't even mention the medical staff before making a vague yet affirmative public diagnosis you can pretty much infer that the subject's season is over. His head coach could have cleared his throat into the mic and said "keep Tony in your thoughts and prayers" and it wouldn't have been any more of an indictment of his upcoming availability. He could have stood up to throw a crumpled up x-ray at the reporter and it wouldn't have delivered the message any more effectively. Gregg Popovich made Tony Parker's injury sound like a "were hoping he'll be ready for training camp" situation, and - whadda ya know? - he wasn't wrong...

The Spurs just announced that Tony Parker is out for the rest of the season with a ruptured left quadriceps tendon
