Oh Brandon, was the big bad referee mean to you after you took 27 penalty minutes during a game in which your team got shellacked? Boo hoo. I have idea Prusty. Focus your retribution on Stamkos and the boys who have their foot halfway up your ass after two games in your building, and not the referees. Here's how you know a series isn't going your way. When your enforcer, who is essentially paid to get under the skin of the opposition, is letting an official get under his skin. Brandon Prust is paid to be one of the tougher guys in a league that prides itself on it's toughness, and he's losing a battle of mental toughness with a man who wears stripes and carries around a whistle. When you have a history of repeatedly running the same goalie behind the net I have a hard time sympathizing when the man whose job it is to police your actions calls you a coward.
Is anyone really feeling bad for Prust? Come on man, there's a code to this shit. Stop snitchin'. What happens on the rink stays on the rink. If that very same referee read off the list of things that Prust has said to him it would border on criminal. Granted, I don't think that officials should provoke players in most situations, but when it happens you shouldn't be running to the media to help you play the victim. The only thing thing you are a victim of is ass rape at the hands of the Tampa Bay Lightning. I don't know about Brandon's book, but "piece of shit", "motherfucker" and "coward" certainly doesn't cover all the chapters in mine. Was Watson playing God, or was he just tired of you playing dirty? No one likes when another person makes their job harder. That's exactly what Prust did on Sunday. He made Watson and the rest of his team of officials exude more energy in closing a game that was, for all intents and purposes, over after the second period. I don't know what Prust thought he was accomplishing when he started whining to reporters, but generally when your most interesting storyline is your 4th line winger spouting off after a playoff loss you are in trouble.
