Those eyes - no matter how perpetually stoned they look - tell all. So I hardly think we needed more clarification about how Tracy McGrady felt when Robert Horry basically called his entire career a failure, but I will be damned if he didn't give it to us here...
"Did he burn me?" McGrady told TMZ Sports ... "Listen man, it was a joke."
"I can understand how people take things but I'll say this ... anybody can be a champion, everybody can't be a Hall of Famer."
Translation: "Oh no, that wasn't an insult. It may have looked like one the way my eyes glazed over, tear ducts swelled, and fists clenched, but that was just a joke. Sometimes you just got to laugh at yourself, right? I can take a joke. But while we are on the subject - before I immediately launch myself into this SUV - I am just going to drop this witty little response that totally hasn't been running through my mind since the second that Robert Horry called me a loser. Ready? Robert Horry's bum ass is the luckiest player in NBA history and fell ass backwards into seven NBA Championships while making the occasional wide open three pointer. Get it?!?! See, a future basketball Hall Of Famer such as myself can be funny too!"
He tried. He tried so damn hard. If you can't appreciate the kind of effort it took for Tracy McGrady not to reach across the desk and choke the life out of his fellow panel member then you probably can't appreciate a great career that ends without a ring, and if that's the case then I feel bad for you.
