It has to be. It just has to be, right? There's no way that Russell Westbrook - mere hours after his running mate bolted for greener pastures - is just happy-go-luckily posting pictures of delicious treats on social media unless it's a subliminal shot at the pride-less mercenary that just left him high and dry. And on a holiday no less? Nope, I'm not sold. As far as I know, Russell Westbrook is not Betty Crocker and if you take the quickest of looks through his Instagram then a snapshot of a 3 layer dessert tray is undoubtedly the pick if you're playing "Which One Doesn't Belong?".
Due mostly in part to my undying need for it to be true, I have no choice but to say that Kevin Durant just got called a 'cupcake'. As someone that thinks his decision to sign in Golden State was spineless I couldn't be happier that he did, because it's basically the perfect insult for someone that walked away from a challenge to make his securing of that elusive championship all but a guarantee. Kevin Durant; The perfect picturesque package on the outside, but softer than a creamy, flaky muffin on the inside. The most desirable of sweets that's comes up just a bit short in leaving you fully satisfied. The guy might be a 7 foot athletic specimen who happens to be one of the top 3 basketball players in the entire world, but he's turns into a bite size pastry when it matters most. His choice to join a super team that doesn't even need him to win a championship is proof positive that he's more 'show' than 'go', no matter how many people want to defend his decision to do so. Glad someone closer to the situation sees that too, and I can't wait to watch Russell Westbrook get his snack on when the Warriors come to town - even if it inevitably results in a 30 point blowout.
