A lot of referee violence today and I have to say, I kind of love it. About time they got involved in the game in ways other then making shitty calls that effect the outcome. Generally speaking, I don't endorse officials getting involved in fisticuffs, but sometimes a douchebag getting what he has coming to him is more important than a referee upholding his societal duty to not hit teenagers. It's important to keep a keen eye here. You see #73, the kid that starts this whole unnecessary melee by seemingly running the goaltender for no discernible reason whatsoever? Wouldn't you know it, he's the same one that gets bullied to the ground by a man a foot shorter than him. Perfect world? One of the kids in black actually knows how to land a punch, and Napoleon doesn't have to have his complex kick in, but I am personally glad that it did. The lesson to be learned here is that you can't be the badass that is ready to swing on anyone and everyone -presumably because you're losing by a sizable margin- AND be the guy that's going to take a dive and play dead when stripes gives you a face wash and a forearm shiver. I suppose the ref wasn't expecting that Goldberg spear at the hands of the coach, but if you asked him off the record theres no way he would regret planting that kid -that made his job exponentially harder- face first into the ice.
