Second round playoff series. The two seed that has a couple of the best upcoming stars in the league against the three seed that has one of best playoff performers in NBA history. Tied up after two games. Both games featuring clutch game tying shots in the waning seconds. Both games having gone to overtime. Someone please tell me, how is this series still so far from intriguing? Seriously, it's some of the worst basketball I have ever tried to watch. What's wrong with the NBA playoffs, you ask? I honestly don't know, but I can tell you that this series long snoozefest is a perfect portrayal of it. The best possible second round matchup that we could have hoped for in the Eastern Conference and it can't even hold my attention? The closest, most competitive games basketball fans could possibly ask for and it's still damn near unwatchable? I say this sarcastically but it's also 100% true, televising three of the fours series that are currently taking place is bad for the NBA's brand. I don't even want the option to tune in because I know I am just going to end up pissed of when I do. I would rather have FOMO then the ability to watch these games in full. At least there's a certain level of anxiety involved with missing sporting events. It's a level of anxiety that damn sure isn't matched by a playoff series that looks like an NCAA preseason tournament. Give me Spurs/Thunder and then let's just skip to the Conference Finals. I want to see Heat/Cavaliers, but I couldn't be less interested in how either team gets there. Especially not when we are wasting perfectly good high definition channels that would honestly be more worthy of my time if they were selling Slap Chop's and Sham Wow's.
