Did Draymond and Isaiah call each other ahead of time to plan the outfit?

Someone's gotta change. pic.twitter.com/XHMprOPqwK

Wow, I never thought I would see it play out. At least in NBA circles this has to be considered the equivalent of the all-too-rare double social suicide. At some point in the future there will be two girls from rival cliques coming face-to-face at prom while wearing the same dress. Those superficial bitches will think that they...likkke...can't even, but they definitely can even if the alternative is feeling the level of embarrassment endured by fashion forward basketball players that pride themselves on their originality. If this happened to Russell Westbrook or Dywane Wade they probably wouldn't show their face in public for a week, and it wouldn't be part of some new fangled fad involving oversized scarves or burkas. That might be the most disturbing moment of Draymond Green's career, and he's a guy that's become the face of in-game testicular abuse. Isaiah Thomas never felt smaller as a man than he did when he eventually saw that split screen, and he's a 5'8 guard that makes his living driving into the paint against certifiable giants. The only difference between the oft-publicized bowels of NBA arenas and the red carpet is the absence of a red carpet, but the lack of scenery doesn't make it any less of a judgmental runway.

I think the only way to handle this is for both of them to come forward and say it was an intentional show of solidarity. I can't imagine this is what Martin Luther King Jr. had in mind when he fought for the freedoms of African Americans, but giving them the opportunity to explain away incidental matching by referencing the inclusive power of his presence on ludicrously overpriced, screen printed clothing is definitely an unintended perk of his activism. Pass it off as racial camaraderie and this awkward scene would actually become praiseworthy, but leave people assuming that the contents of two NBA closets aren't completely exclusive and not even the fact that the shirt in question is TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY NINE(!) dollars can make them feel less cheap than they did in the moment...
