Two Minutes, Well Worth It

It Takes A Lot To Get Me To Side With Cam Newton

Dammit. God dammit. I can't stand these Packers fans. I DISLIKE them because they are sore losers that reported Cam Newton to security for stealing their obnoxiously intricate, obnoxiously expensive sign. I HATE them because they are so indefensible that I have to take Cam Newton's side by default.

Here's how this works. If you are in enemy territory your property becomes collateral damage. You wear your authentic jersey then you run the risk of having beer dumped on it. You wear your lucky hat someone might launch it hundreds of feet down into the section below. If you plaster a big ass 'G' on top of the entire state of North Carolina and sit front row then you deserve to end up out a $500 sign. There is a certain protocol that comes with attending an away stadium. It's protocol that says you might endure some not so pleasant pleasantries, and it's a protocol that say when you do, you shut the fuck up and don't be a pussy about it. Calling security, on the starting quarterback of the team whose stadium you are at nonetheless, clearly doesn't fall within that protocol. The environment provided by a professional sports venue isn't the same as one provided by society. It's one that treats destruction of property as self preservation, and rightfully so. If you like you're big dumb sign then leave it in your man cave or fly it out to Wisconsin like a real fan would.

Yeah, I think Cam Newton is a petty, petty little princess for ripping it down, but the guy that cried to security because he did only justifies him doing so. This isn't Lambeau buddy, and as much as I hate the Carolina Panthers, I support their right to confiscate a sign that insinuates that they are owned by the Green Bay Packers. There are five of you twerps. If you wanted the sign so badly maybe put up a fight if someone tries to take it from you. I highly doubt that Cam Newton was angrily wrestling away signs from Packers fans. Something tells me he just strolled right up and plucked it right from your limp-wristed grasp. Either keep it off the field of play, or realize that it might get treated like any on-field distraction would. You can't try to punk an entire franchise and then get upset when that franchise retaliates. If anything this guy should be happy that his sign got stolen because right now it's getting more attention then it ever deserved, and wasn't that the whole point of sitting front row anyway?
