Jared From Subway Apparently Paid A 16 Year Old Girl For Sex, But It Could Be Worse, Right?

Business Insider- The FBI has subpoenaed an affidavit containing alleged texts between former Subway spokesman Jared Fogle and a former female Subway franchisee in which Fogle says he paid for sex with a 16-year-old girl, according to the former franchisee's attorney. In the messages, Fogle repeatedly asks the woman — a Subway franchisee at the time — to advertise herself on Craigslist for sex with other men. He asks her if he can watch the sexual acts and tells her she can make about $500 per act.

"When can we find a time for me to talk to your cousin?" Fogle asks in a message dated May 1, 2008.

"Any more news with your cousin?" he asks the following day. "Tell me what u think about when u think of the three of us all together???"

Earlier, in April, according to the affidavit, Fogle asked the woman, "How young would you like?... Would you want to have an adventure like that?"

On June 19, the lawyer says that Fogle again asked the woman to advertise herself on Craigslist. She responds: "Is this the same website you found that 16 year old girl you that you f*****? ...I still can't believe you only paid $100 for her."

Fogle responds: "It was amazing!!!!"

She asks: "What part of her ad made you think she was selling sex?"

He says: "U will have to read them to see."

The age of consent in Indiana, where Fogle resides, is 16 years old.

A former journalist separately came forward earlier this month claiming that Fogle made inappropriate remarks to her about middle-school girls. According to the woman, Jared would often visit schools in Sarasota County, and allegedly told her numerous times that, 'Middle school girls are hot.'

"They weren't jokes. They were very serious," she told WWSB.



I'll be honest. When the news about Jared from Subway getting investigated for child pornography broke I went all-in on him being a sexual predator. The narrative of some guy that became a pseudo-celebrity all by eating at the same shitty sandwich chain everyday being a pervert was too inciting not to run with. So, in that sense, it's actually good that Jared was found out to have engaged in some questionable sexual activities. You don't get led out of your house by police in front of a bunch of news cameras with the words "child pornography" in bold letters across the television screen and ever shed the label of being a pedophile. So if he is going to have to face a lifetime of shame, at least he got some satisfaction out of it. It's better than dealing with a stigma that's the result of a wrongful accusation.

Hey, if you are going to be a child pornographer, it doesn't get anymore harmless than paying a 16 year old for sex. If there were a 'good' kind of sexual misconduct, that would definitely be it. That's way different than diddling children. A 16 year old may be young, and naive, but she at least has the ability to make a conscious choice. You touch a 10 year old and you are compromising their mental health for the rest of their life. You pay a 16 year old and you are getting her started down her inevitable career path. Let's not forget that this happened in Indiana, where against all societal norms, it's actually legal to engage in sex with a 16 year old. Jared may be a creepy, old bastard that's guilty of soliciting a prostitute, but he's a not a creepy, old bastard that's guilty of statutory rape. That fact alone makes a world of difference. 

What's that you say? Jared, an aging white male, made a bunch of remarks about middle school girls that he found attractive? I don't want to condone scouring the playground for your eye candy, but telling a female's age based on looks alone has become increasingly difficult. There are 14 year olds that can pass for 23 and 23 year olds that can pass for 14. Those are just facts. That's why I refuse to endorse a woman's looks out loud unless she's got a wrinkle, a wedding ring, or a cocktail and she's standing inside of a bar. You just don't know these days, and you never get a pass for noticing the beauty of an underaged girl, even if she looks like she's on the verge of menopause. If anything Jared is just guilty of being too forthright. Maybe next time keep your attractions to yourself and you won't have cops have beating down your door and burying your reputation....
