Jay Glazer Just Ruined Everyone's Week With Actual Facts Regarding The Sean Payton Situation

Jay Glazer! The man that we, the Who Dat Nation, have all been waiting for! Jesus dude, what took you so damn long? I have been sitting here all day waiting for some informed, unbiased reporting and you've just been watching with your feet up as a bunch of click hungry pseudo-journalists spread lies? While the rest of the sports media is treating Sean Payton like he's partaking in NBA free agency, Jay Glazer just emerges from the shadows like "oh yeah, I talked to him yesterday, he was in a meeting with his General Manager working out their differences". Sorry to ruin your week Mr. Rapoport, but Sean Payton hasn't been hired by half of the teams in the NFL just yet. He's not actually standing at the edge of the trading block ready to jump to the first franchise that's willing to part with a second round pick. Don't mean to burst your bubble, but whether Sean Payton returns to the Saints or not, this situation is going to be handled in a thought out, professional manner. I know, I know, that's way less fun to tweet about, but surprisingly the NFL coaching carousel isn't just a live auction. Who knew?

Of course there are a ton of teams interested in Sean Payton. He's a young, proven head coach with a Super Bowl championship on his resume, but that doesn't mean he's in ongoing negotiations with ever single fucking team that could possibly benefit from his services. Thank God we have people like Jay Glazer to impart wisdom upon us while unsubstantiated tweets turn into rumors, that are being treated as fact, and run on every sports network from sea to shining sea. I am starting to think Drew Brees was right. These guys just developed all of this hearsay while pounding Jameson shots with their drunk uncle over the holidays. Sean Payton is still a Saint and by all (reliable) accounts he and Mickey Loomis are working to keep it that way. Does that mean that he will be in New Orleans next year? Absolutely not. However, it does mean that, as of now, that's far closer to becoming a reality than anyone outside of Jay Glazer, the only insider that keeps close personal contact with them, would have you believe.
