I'm sure you all have seen the teams for this years World Cup of hockey. Needless to say there were a few major snubs. With that being said me and my boy Phil are entering our own team into the tourney. We are looking for guys who want to compete and may have been overlooked in hockey. We don't have a team name yet so feel free to shoot me some options and I need to fill out the roster also so give me some ideas. Team USA and Team Canada messed up big time!!!! #noMVPlove
Don't get me wrong, I never want to curb someone's enthusiasm. This is obviously just a mediocre attempt at humor, and should be treated as such. I'm not stupid enough to think that John Scott is stupid enough to think that you can just enter a team into the World Cup Of Hockey like it's your friendly neighborhood beer pong tournament. That said, I think I have simply seen enough of John Scott for a lifetime. I enjoyed him making the NHL look like the self-imposed public relations nightmare that they are, but I think the sun has officially gone down on his relevance. His time to shine is over. The hero's welcome that culminated in an All Star Game MVP award and accompanying million dollar bonus check? Payment to drift off into the sunset as the borderline NHL goon turned temporary cult leader. His 15 minutes is up, and he's honestly better off keeping it that way because it was the most storybook ending of all time. For a brief moment he captured the hearts of all hockey fans, but our hearts escaped and that moment is undoubtedly up. I personally would rather he not ruin the memory of it for me by reminding me that he still exists through forced, unfunny Instagram posts. I don't need a John Scott full length film. I don't need John Scott facetiously implying that his exclusion from an international tournament is on the same level as that of a player who's currently in the running for the Conn Smythe trophy. Not just because I am already starting to suffer John Scott fatigue, but because Phil Kessel has been the butt of enough jokes without having to worry about being comedically associated with the charity case that - despite it's good cause - the NHL got guilted into donating to. Plus, hasn't he already made him look bad enough in the past...
