Breitbart- Whitlock does not think Goodell will reduce Brady’s suspension because he wants to please the black players in the NFL who have served suspensions or been hit with fines for their missteps on the field and off the field.
“I think Goodell went into this looking to affirm the four-game suspension. He’s trying to please the rank and file players that think his discipline has been directed at too many black players; too many non-superstar players. They want to see him take on Tom Brady, the guy sitting at the top. Only person they would love better is if this was Peyton Manning. I think Goodell’s under a lot of pressure to please James Harrison and some other players.”
Goddamn it. I swore I wouldn't let myself do it. I swore I would steer clear of the the DeflateGate subject from here on out. In all honesty, I would rather pluck my ball sack, hair by hair, with tweezers than debate this again, but Jason Whitlock making it about race leaves me no goddamn choice. Hey Jay, make up your mind. Is it about making sure a suspension is upheld to show that 'white privilege' doesn't exist in the NFL, or is to make sure that superstar athletes know they are just as culpable for their transgressions as role players? Those are two very, VERY different things. I highly doubt that Roger Goodell is letting a player's contract and value to the league dictate what he does with the Brady decision. We're talking about a guy that is one year removed from suspending the best running back in the sport for an entire season, so why don't you just say what you want to say? You think Goodell will uphold Brady's suspension because he doesn't want to make black players mad. Jesus Christ, is this guy the fat, black love child of Skip Bayless and Steven A. Smith? Just stirring up racial controversy out of thin air. Just because you sit in Tony Kornheiser's seat doesn't mean yo have to echo every stupid sentiment that has ever dribbled from his lips.
Why does EVERYTHING have to have racial undertones? Why can't Goodell uphold the suspension because he thinks a couple pumps of air compromised the integrity of the game? Why can't Brady miss four games because there is reasonable doubt that he knowingly bent the rules? Why can't he stick to his original ruling simply because the Patriots have a history of these types of things? Not everything is black and white Jason. That's not to say that black players aren't keeping a keen eye on how this is handled, but I refuse to believe that is going to be the determining factor in the final decision. Adrian Petersen got suspended an entire season for making his kid's ass look like it survived Jurassic World. Greg Hardy got suspended for treating his wife like a Raggity Anne doll. Ray Rice got suspended for hitting his wife so hard that even the elevator music skipped a beat. Those are felonies that involved defenseless victims no matter what color the perpetrators skin happened to be. If Tom Brady's suspension gets altered, which I happen to think it will, it's because his crime is a minor misdemeanor in comparison to those previous mentioned, not because Roger Goodell has an ethnic agenda. That's more then we can say for some half assed, 'Pardon The Interruption' replacement host. Open your fucking eyes Whitlock, and maybe your mind too while you're at it.
