Yahoo Sports- It's magical place called the Korean Baseball Organization. We've seen those KBO cats flip some bats before, but this latest one is something special. Courtesy of our friend Dan at MyKBO.net, check out Jin-Hyung Kim of the Doosan Bears.
With the departure of Yasiel Puig's obnoxious bat flips, there has been a hole left in my heart. A hole that could only be filled by the presence of much, much more obnoxious bat flips. Enter stage right; the next Matsui! Was that culturally insensitive? Sorry, but you white, you Ben Affleck, and if you're Asian and you hit bombs you are Matsui. Until he takes over as the best oriental bat of all time, those are the rules. That was his first home run in the the Korean League? And he exuded that much electricity? He may have just flipped his way up into the majors. After all, Baseball is all about entertainment, Barry Bonds taught me that. He could work on the hang time, but he's got more distance than a Bryce Harper line drive. That's got to be worth something, no? It's not like the scoring is going to go up, or the games are going to be shortened. Got to inject energy into the stadium somehow. Even if he doesn't play they should just have him stand in the batter's box and flip bats for the crowd. Certainly more entertaining than 6 scoreless innings and a 2-1 final. If nothing else the kid doesn't lack confidence. He was prepared for that bat flip as soon as he stepped into the dirt. He may not have Major League talent, but the worst case is provides some highlight reel strikeouts like these...
