Uproxx- “These 33 years have been nothing but a blessing,” Wayne said on the show. “I have never—never’s a strong word. I have never, never dealt with racism and I’m glad I didn’t have to.” Tunechi added that he didn’t know if being a star made him immune to racism, but he now knows racism does exist despite racism not being his reality, continuing, “I would have to say I thought it was over. I still believe it’s over, but, obviously it isn’t.”
Nice try FS1! You think just because you gave yourself a succinct little program acronym we are going to forget which news corporation's umbrella you fall under? As far as am concerned, Lil' Wayne is just the sports equivalent of Stacey Dash. A high profile African American that is either just stupid enough - or whose opinion is just affordable enough - to get on camera and do a complete disservice to their entire race. Lil' Wayne must have smoked himself into an alternate reality, because if you truly believe that the black man from New Orleans with 35 face tattoos and multi-colored dreadlocks has never been a victim of racism than you actually fit the profile of a FOX loyalist. You could almost see the disappointment on Sterling Sharpe's face. Maybe that disappointment stems from the fact that he works for a parent company that thinks Colin Kaepernick slots neatly in between ISIS and homosexuality on the collective list of threats to America. Maybe it stems from the fact that he now earns a living trying to play nice with black public figures that are completely undermining the difficulty of the black experience because their memory only goes back 5 minutes. Whatever the case may be, this had to be thee single most counter productive Colin Kaepernick conversation the world has ever seen. I guess we shouldn't be all that surprised considering it was mediated by Skip Bayless, but still - it's a good thing no one of (any) color watches FS1 or they would have been ready to put their remote through their television when Lil' Wayne was getting ready to eulogize racism because he has white fans. P.S. Skip Bayless telling Lil' Wayne he's a "deep thinker on these issues" is the most insulting thing that's ever been directed at my intelligence.
