You know, it's really just more sad than anything else. To still be in the denial stage this long after the breakup? Just sitting around trying to grasp tightly to the memories of days gone by like a recently single high school chick scrolling through old Facebook photos of her and her former flame. I'm usually sympathetic in these types of situations, but it's been damn near three months already. It's time to sac up and move on Edmonton. There's a whole big world out from underneath that pillow of yours. You've already got some fresh young eye candy waiting in the wings, you just finished watching him shine against the best players in the world, and you're STILL hung up on the ex that YOU frivolously broke up with? I mean, I get it. You don't know what you got until it's gone, but there's no such thing as "if you love someone, let them go..." in professional sports. Trust me, I know Taylor Hall is a hell of a catch, but he's not coming back to you. He's no longer yours. Shit, considering how quick you were to let him get on the plane, it's possible that he never was. Doesn't matter how many times you stare longingly at his stats, he's not going to be replicating them in Edmonton. I know it hurts, but it's time to get proactive in the grieving process. Reflecting passionately on each goal, assist, and point is only going to make it more painful when they start coming in a red and black uniform. I know that super relatable Instagram quote told you that "with love, anything is possible", but Taylor Hall had Devils fans at 'hello' and there's not a shot in hell we are ever saying 'goodbye'. Remember...it's better to have loved and lost. One would think you would be familiar enough with the latter to have processed it by now.
