Louisville's Donovan Mitchell Did Grayson Allen A Huge Favor By Slapping Him Across The Face1/16/2017
Can we get a round of applause for Donavan Mitchell? I mean, Grayson Allen's seemingly nightly acts of douchebaggery have become so deserving of retaliation that Duke's next act of discipline should be to hire someone that whose sole job is to smack him on the nose with a newspaper every time he blatantly lifts his leg and starts pissing all over the integrity of the game. In that sense, that slap was something we have all been dying to see, but it also served as quite the favor to the person on the receiving end of it. Just think, if Donovan Mitchell's five fingers never delivered a "Rick James"-esque punchline then the much maligned Duke guard would have had literally no reason to have been lying on the ground like he just faced the consequences of not giving his bully his lunch money. Just go back and watch that GIF. The best case scenario is that Grayson Allen whacked himself upside the head as he got tangled up and fell to the floor, and the worst case scenario is that he completely pretended to get hit in his infuriatingly whiney mug as he locked arms with his opponent and threw himself to the floor. Either way, the person he was trying to frame for a foul made no contact with his young Ted Cruz-looking head ass prior to him holding the lower half of his face like he was doing a bad Bane impression. As far as I am concerned, Donovan Mitchell didn't just give Grayson Allen a glimpse into what's to come if he keeps playing like a dickhead. He took some heat off Grayson Allen for an act of flopping that would make Manu Ginobili cringe if it weren't followed by smack that didn't make nearly enough contact for the liking of non-Blue Devil fans. I'm not exactly expecting the most entitled player in all of sports to be sending out a 'thank you' card, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be grateful towards the person that - if only for one play - unintentionally saved him from looking like a total asshole.
