Live look at the Saints receiving core... But seriously, it's a good thing Michael Thomas and Brandin Cooks - along with Fast Willie Snead (don't forget the) IV - are setting the league on fire, or getting torched by their coach on social media would definitely burn a bit more. Jokes at their expense are worth all the laughs in the world when the Saints wide receivers are contributing at a rate that's even foreign to an offense that's perennially one of the best in the league. Hell, if there is even an inkling of truth to this joke then I hope that Mike Thomas keeps making rookie mistakes and Brandin Cooks continues to get in his way because clearly it's all worked out famously thus far. It's honestly flat out scary that all three of the Saints wideouts that are on pace for over 1,000 yards receiving are 24-and-under. Considering his play this season, I don't think too many people are worried about that "inevitable decline" that every media outlet not associated with the New Orleans Saints was ready to prematurely push Drew Brees down. That said, if he does start to eventually show his age, he'll have plenty of weapons that can make him look as good as he's made them look over the years. For the first time in a long time it feels like the talent on the outside is a lot more than just a product of the talent under center. That bodes well for the future of this franchise, and I don't just mean the immediate future. Now just imagine if Sean Payton had a defense he felt comfortable roasting on the internet? Then the Saints would really be cooking with gas.
