Two Minutes, Well Worth It

Of Course Women Need More Sleep Than Men

YourTango- Couples will sometimes fight over who sleeps in more. And according to a study, it turns out your wife should be the one sleeping in, not you. The study examined 210 middle aged men and women, and found that women suffered greater health issues from lack of sleep than men.

"We found that for women, poor sleep is strongly associated with high levels of psychological distress and greater feelings of hostility, depression, and anger. In contrast, these feelings were not associated with the same degree of sleep disruption in men."

He continues, "The more of your brain you use during the day, the more of it that needs to recover and, consequently, the more sleep you need. Women tend to multi-task ... and so, they use more of their actual brain than men do. Because of that, their sleep need is greater."

"This is because women's brains are wired differently from men's and are more complex, so their sleep need will be slightly greater. The average is 20 minutes more, but some women may need slightly more or less than this."

So in every sense, yes, women's brains are more complex, and need more time to relax and recover overnight.

Well, well, well, kind of kills the narrative that we are all equal now doesn't it? Women can do everything that men can do, huh? I suppose that doesn't
include the ability to function like a sane human being without being comatose for half their life? I'm not saying I don't understand why women need more sleep. Their life is just one big self-soothing therapy session. Of course they are always laying down. This study can call a women's incessant need to pay close attention to every detail of everyone's life "complex" all it wants. What he calls complex, I call convoluted. Only needing a good 5-6 hours of sleep makes me "simple"? You mean uncomplicated? Oh no, God forbid!

All this study really says is that women are the weaker sex because they don't know when to let things go and forget about shit that doesn't involve them. You know why they use their brain more? Because they clutter it with a bunch of crap that doesn't matter. Night-night ladies. We know you need more time for your wittle brains to welax and wecovery from all the tossing and turning that the 'Kocktails With Khloe' kliffhanger is kausing. Sure this comes off as sexist, but I'm not the one that's needs another nap to cure my irrational hostility, depression, and anger. Plus, if I am soooo wrong how come I have no problem sleeping at night?
