Pat Summit's Son Had To Resign As Women's Basketball Coach At LA Tech After Impregnating One Of His PLayers
LBS- Tyler Summitt resigned from his position as head coach of the Louisiana Tech women’s basketball coach Thursday after admitting to having an inappropriate relationship. While that’s big enough news in and of itself, there is also a salacious aspect to this story: Summitt reportedly impregnated one of his players.
Here is what Summitt said in a statement announcing his resignation:
“It is with great regret that I resign from my position as head coach of the women’s basketball program at Louisiana Tech University. I am profoundly disappointed in myself for engaging in a relationship that has negatively affected the people I love, respect and care about the most. My hope, plans and prayers are to repair those relationships. I am appreciative of the opportunity I was given to coach at Louisiana Tech. I am heartbroken that my time has ended in Ruston, but because of my respect for the institution, it is best that I resign. I am hopeful the media and the public will respect the privacy of my family and me as we deal with this difficult situation I have caused.”
Couple of things here. I think this kind of goes without saying, but impregnating one of your players definitely breaks the first rule of being a male women's basketball coach. It might even be so obvious that they didn't even feel the need to put it in the school's handbook. Looks like that decision backfired.
On the other hand, the best way to shed the stigma that comes with being a man - especially a young man - that chooses to coach women's basketball is to put a bun in your player's oven. Mark this down. April 8th, 2016. The day I began to think less of Tyler Summitt as a coach, and more of him as a relatable dude.
Tyler Summitt might be (is) a goddamned idiot, but what man in his mid-20's that's constantly around women isn't? This is ALL on Louisiana Tech. They put a 25 year old straight male in charge of a bunch of 18-22 year old girls, and they didn't think there would be an issue? "Hey Tyler, I know you see these girls everyday, develop a rapport with them, and maybe catch a glimpse of their sports bras every now and again, but please try not to fuck any of them". Oh okay, that sounds reasonable. Especially considering the fact that young impressionable women totally don't fall for men in positions of authority. What? They thought Tyler Summitt was above succumbing to the his primitive sexual instincts just because his mom is Pat Summitt? He's still just a 25 year old man, and therefore he's still just a filthy, disgusting pervert that's prone to letting his dick do the thinking. Maybe he should have played things a little safer, but sometimes a nice long practice gets the adrenaline and hormones going and forces things to get passionate quicker than you'd hoped. Can't be expected to waste time finding a condom when your point guard is giving you fuck me eyes in the lay-up line.
I know he's a married man, but if you get married at the age of 23 are you really married at all? What's the divorce rate at that age, 75%? Bump it up to 100% when the marriage features a man that spends everyday hanging around vulnerable, sweaty college girls. I would go as far as saying that if Tyler Summitt didn't sleep with at least one of his players then I would for sure assume his wife was a beard. Maybe that's how we fix this issue. For their next coaching search Louisiana Tech needs to look into impotent old men and the LGBT community. Probably won't stop the sex, but it will definitely put an end to the pregnancy nonsense. Especially if they are going to roster girls that look like this...
