NY Post- “AB was and still is a big tease,” Jackson said. “When he was injured he refused to do simple non-contact activities like dummy our offense in practice. He seemed to be a malingerer and this had a bad effect on the team, and also on the way the Knicks fans reacted to him.
“When he was on the court, he had a hard time staying intense, didn’t hustle back in offense-to-defense transition, wasn’t active enough in defending screen-rolls. Still, his offense is perfectly suited to the triangle because he really doesn’t have to work very hard to get shots. “Whether we can agree on financial terms for his return, or he winds up someplace else, AB will always be somewhat of an enigma.” Oh, Phil Jackson. You old geezer you. Trying to use some young person lingo to explain why the Knicks were so ostentatiously bad last year. Maybe you should take a class in what some of these words mean before you go spouting them off in an effort to degrade your (former) players. Phil, a person can only be a tease if you think you are getting something advantageous from them and they fail to deliver. For instance, Andrea Bargnani WAS a tease when he was drafted first overall by the Toronto Raptors. He was a tease when he proceeded to go the route of every European player, outside of Dirk Nowitzki, that was overhyped and drafted too high. You want to tell me 2006 Andrea Bargnani was a tease? That's a fair assessment. I'll even give you that he was a tease in 2011, the year after his only season averaging over 20 points. But 2014 Bargnani? Not even close. Let's use some real life examples here. A girl that grabs your dick, drags you to your bedroom, tells you goodnight, and proceeds to roll over and fall asleep is a tease. However, if you watch that very same girl do it to the same guy 70-something times a year for 7 years she just goes from being a tease to being a habitual dick grabbing narcoleptic. It's YOUR fault if you willingly enter into a relationship with that person. I can only imagine that a person that feels hoodwinked by Andrea Bargnani's appearance would be the same type of person that thinks strippers love him for his personality. I didn't even watch much of Bargnani on the Raptors, but if you asked me to give you 4 things that his game lacked I would probably rattle off "physicality, intensity, hustle, and defense", and I would have been exactly right. Hell, the Raptors put him on the trading block based solely on the fact that he WAS a tease. Tigers don't change their stripes, and European basketball players don't change their proclivity to being soft. If the Zen Master failed to see that after over half a decade of game tape it's not on Bargnani for failing to be something he's not, it's on Phil Jackson for ignoring all the evidence that pointed to that being the case. P.S. Doesn't it look like Phil Jackson is dying inside? I think he started aging 3 years every 365 days as soon as he joined the Knicks staff. Just tweeting silly shit, and throwing out ridiculous quotes as often as he can in attempt to explain why the state of the Knicks isn't his fault. You just don't win 10 championships with Jordan, Kobe, and Shaq and then take on the world's most daunting task as a senior citizen without it affecting your life expectancy.
